I made myself good and sore with my new workout routine!
Yesterday, I started it & I have some delayed muscle sore-ness (to be expected), and today I'm already feeling a little sore in my legs. (yippe!)
today, I went to the store & I had a woman stop me & tell me she liked my arms. Sure, she had obviously become the crazy cat lady & had a few missing teeth, but hey I will take the compliment!
add to this, someone that is a trainer at the gym I go to (and someone I highly respect) gave me 'props' and complimented me on my progress. It totally made my day! Encouraging others is amazing, don't stop it! It only makes people like me work harder! LOL!
I no longer weigh myself, and I only measure myself on occasion. Why? Because I'm past the wanting/needing to shed a few pounds and I'm actually getting results I can see in the mirror. It's amazing to be here. I never thought I'd be to this point that I wouldn't weigh all-the-time, and wouldn't measure weekly, but believe me this is far healthier & I'm way happy about it.
I have been asked about how I got 'here'. I am blessed to be married to someone that is a trainer and he has been my rock. He has been what has kept me going even back when the only results I saw was the ones I dreamed about. He believes in me & I am so glad that I listened to him. If you are interested in a personal trainer that gets good results, leave me a message & I will give you his details. He is reasonable on his prices (of course mine was free...lol) and he will help you get the results...all you have to do is be willing to GET THERE. WORK. GET IT DONE!
I also was asked about my food journal.
I use to keep one daily when I first started, but now I don't. Why? It seriously depressed me. As someone that has a former eating disorder I felt like it was only 'feeding my monster' and I didn't need that.
if you want to know which one I recommend, I suggest http://www.fitday.com/ they are easy to navigate & I learned a lot while there.
I also was asked by several people what I read to help me. Anything by Jillian Michaels. Seriously. Her book "Making The Cut" http://www.amazon.com/Making-Cut-Fitness-Strongest-Sexiest/dp/0307382516/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1279654953&sr=1-1
(amazon link) is really good & I still find it new everytime I read it.
You don't have to go to the gym to get fit. I started working out to Richard Simmons, but then tired of it...I didn't seem to get results, so I purchased "Shred" and a few other Jillian Michaels DVD's. They are fantastic! I started off using things like sauce bottles as weights & moved up to dumbbells. If you want to you truly can.
I love what being fit means to me. I love what it does to me & for me. If you want to be fit it has to be something YOU want. You can't do this & stick with it if you are doing it for someone else. Also, you can't do it/get there by half-tailing it. You have to give it your all. You want results? You have to put them in.
like today. I was so close to throwing up I went to the restroom. It was awesome. AWESOME? Have I lost my mind? No. See, I like the rush I get from working out so hard that I get close to throwing up. Have I ever thrown up? YES! And I went right back at it, and felt even better. Do you HAVE to get sick to work out? Nah. Only the lucky few get to do that. I happen to be one.lol.
I am so sore ladies and gents. I will be groaning! If you aren't sore from working out from a new routine, you aren't working hard enough. You want results? They don't come for free.
I hope you all join in on this journey of personal fitness. It's not all about me, but it is all about being fit!
