My road.............

back in 2005 my Mother passed away from ALS and I found myself feeding my pain. I had been one of the ones blessed enough to care for her & now that she was gone I felt lost, and alone........but biscuits and Dr. Peppers were there for me......

Yep. This is me. All 5'0" and over 155lbs of me.

I decided I couldn't take it anymore. I was so sick and tired of being the 'fat' one in the relationship....my hubby was a 'gym rat' and I didn't want to be the "Doug" in our "Doug and Carrie"  reference to The King of Queens TV SHOW

It was a Tuesday when I got up and put in one of the DVD's that I purchased at Wally World...I love Jillian Michaels & I decided to do "Shred" 30 Day Shred

I couldn't even make it through the entire DVD. I collapsed onto the living room floor thinking I would die & almost thinking that death would have felt better than the throwing up that I did a few minutes after my living room flounce.

I didn't see myself being able to make it through the 30 day shred DVD or the Banish Fat Boost Metabolism DVD still yet to view or do later on in the week.....

I didn't want to be one of 'those' people that had such a strict diet that I couldn't enjoy a piece of cake or a drink or such from time to time, so I learned how to do MACROS Macros are just nutrient calculations and decided what calories, fat, proteins, sodium, and carbs I wanted/needed to take in & after many trials and errors I finally had my game plan.

Getting out of the 150's happened really quickly. Almost as fast the 140's crept on and off the scale.......the 130's, however, were a struggle......a true struggle.

I'm one of those girls that have to battle the bulge. I have serious weight issues. I can yo-yo like no other. Sure, I can deny myself a regular life where the occasional dessert never makes its appearance on my plate or a Dr. Pepper never finds it's way into my tummy....but what kind of life would that be for me? I decided not a fun one.

I can't believe what a long road it has been since 2008 and what a hard battle it's been and still is for me...........but it's all worth it and I love every minute I spend trying to get me to be the best me that I can be.

Just get up off the couch and do something. Nothing will change if nothing changes. You can do it. Remember, it's not about looking like a supermodel it's about feeling like a super model version of you...and it all begins with one step.

Could I walk right out on stage and win any fitness contest, no......probably not......but I can finally smile at my own reflection at a job well done..something that I couldn't do back in 2005. Something that I could not do until after many times if seeing my drops of sweat & tears on the gym floor and my heart on my sleeves.

if these rambles on my blog do nothing else I hope that you will realize how important YOU are.....and how okay that is. Every step should be counted because in the end every step does count. Now, get up off your toucheeeeee and mooooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
