FREE WEIGHTS are your friends.....

I've said this  more times than I've told people my name.

I don't understand where the whole stigma that women that lift free weights and lift hard are going to look like male body builders. It ain't happening honey. Unless you take male hormones are have some kind of freaky things that need to be addressed by your doctor, you will not look like that ladies.

I'm the kind of girl I like people being impressed by what I DO not how I LOOK. I love how sometimes when I'm doing deadlifts people clap for me or give me the 'atta' girl. What I do not like is how (as I posted in my tangent earlier) it is looked at as less than girlie...almost like we aren't feminine enough if we are doing this.

I'm a lady. I feel like I dress up nice. The only difference in me (other than my few tats & many piercings) is that I'm not skinny fat and I'm not fat fat. I still have things that need work on for me but my legs do look pretty darn good in high heels thanks to all the workouts I do for my calves (heels accentuate those muscles anyway). Yeah I have a small chest and yeah I am not super model pretty by anyone's standards but I am still a girl and you can still tell I'm a girl. I've never been mistaken for a boy, never been taken as a boy (and it's not because I'm 5'0" and they assume either missy).

The adrenaline rush that comes from wrapping your hands around cold hard steel can not be measured. People will lie, scales will lie, you will lie but 200 lbs is still 200 lbs any day every day (something my guy H. Rollins posted somewhere). I go from being able to barely pick it up to being able to pick it up with ease & needing to go up in weight. It's a kind of accomplishment that makes me beam with pride when it happens.

Ladies, free weights are your friends. No matter how few females you see doing them it's good to do them. Give it 6 weeks and see for yourself.
