if you are a reader of my blog you know that I've spent a good bit of the past couple of months healing from being a victim of a hit and run while riding my Kymco and then had to live thru the amazingly terrible pain of a wisdom tooth failure......meaning that I've spent most of that few weeks drinking most of my calories and only really able to eat soft things like bread...yep. Carbs.....and I just drank wayyyy too much Dr. Pepper. I was drinking almost 2 liters a day...ewwww.
last week I started slowly working into my gym routine again. The first day I went I was only able to do the elliptical 15 mins before my headache from my tooth removal got the best of me, and then the next time I went I was able to do 20, and the last day I went I was able to burn a whopping 400 calories. I wasn't doing much, but at least I was trying...and a week after having that mean ol' tooth pulled no less......I did most of my healing without the aid of pain pills...I only took 1/2 a pill when I took them & that's all I took a day. WHEW for being a softy when it comes to what it takes to edge off my pain, yo.
this coming week I'm excited on 2 fronts, Tuesday will be 2 weeks since my tooth thing so that means I can try working out with weights again...just to see if I'm there yet. And I'm also expecting a shipment of a whole months worth of meal plans from Nutri-system. I've never tried them, so I can't wait to see if it's a better thing for me than that whole WW thing I tried. And I like trying new things to help me.....so there you go! :) WE shall see....I will so update you on this.....(that is if anyone other than me ever reads my rambles here) other than that I will simply ramble to myself & that is okay by me.
I went to the store this AM & when I got back home I noticed one of my purchases had a whopping 500 calories in it. Drat. I guess I won't have that burrito after all. 500 calories???? OMG. That's almost 1/2 my daily allowance!
I also got grape powder to put in my water that has no calories, etc. And man is it good! It tastes just like kool-aid without the guilt another small victory for me because I'm going to try & drink a whole gallon of water per day to get all these poisons out of my system (I had tooth infection*yulk* and I haven't felt 100% me since getting it). I hope it works and even if it doesn't drinking water is good for you.
I will admit that I gained like 15lbs during my absence from the gym (and basically doing anything) and it almost feels like I'm starting over.....thank God muscle has 'memory' and I'm hoping to drop that weight soon, especially with my meal plan and my hopeful plan of giving up those dr. peppers.
I haven't had not so much as a sip of dr. pepper in 2 days. Ohhhh how I hope I have the willpower to stop drinking these. I'm not normally addicted to anything, but those are so darn good & I hate anything diet drink related......soooo it's better to give them up anyway. I've had headaches from it but it's made better (a wee bit) by drinking black coffee. So far I've only had 2 cups each day & I think that's the lesser of 2 evils.
I have started tracking my meals on FIT DAY and I'm pretty happy about that. I've found I'm more likely to stick to my eating plan if I actually see what I'm about to put into my mouth......
I can't wait to return to the gym tomorrow to see what I can do. I have the added plus of a brand new gym (and better!) and it's another yey me!
what are you doing today?
